The Primus® Epic flight deck is a viable and proven option that is found on some of the world's most advanced aircraft today.
Honeywell certified the first Primus® Epic platform in 2003. Since its certification, it has set milestones for reliability and high density of functional integration on small, lightweight hardware platforms. It has also introduced revolutionary cockpit design such as large format liquid crystal displays, INAV™ and graphical flight planning.
Today, the Primus® Epic platform has flown more than 15 million hours and is on track to be the preferred flight deck on morethan 10,000 aircraft worldwide. The current model has evolved to meet the demands of industry mandates, customer needs and new technologies.
It was originally intended to be Part 23 variant, but quickly proved its success on the Pilatus PC-12 NG and the Viking Twin Otter.
Currently, we are working to evolve the Primus® Apex and Primus® Epic brands to Primus® Epic 2.0. For now, only the most advanced platforms will transition to Primus® Epic 2.0.
This name change allows us to deliver more value with significant technologies like synthetic vision, 3D weather radar and Future Air Navigation System (FANS) capabilities from more standard versions of Primus® Epic.
The change to Primus® Epic 2.0 is a reminder of Honeywell’smany successes and more importantly, announces to our customers that they can expect this product to continually improve.
Features of Primus® Epic 2.0 include:
iNAV map and graphical flight planning: Provides the most advanced pilot interface greatly simplifies flying as aircraft navigation and airspace operations become more demanding and complex.
