Ed Leadley Senior Field Service Engineer, Chicago, Illinois
Ed started his aviation career early, building model airplanes as a kid. After serving in the U.S. Army, the GI bill sent him to college. As he puts it, he always loved looking at airplanes so why not a career taking care of them?
Before joining Honeywell in 1993, Ed spent nearly two decades as an aircraft mechanic and director of maintenance (DOM) after his first job with a seven-aircraft fleet at MARCOR Flight Operations, supporting Montgomery Ward and Container Corporation of America.
Thinking ever since like a DOM, he knows how frustrating it can be to have an aircraft with a mechanical problem when your CEO is scheduled to fly. Ed sees his job as quickly solving customer problems, and strives for first-contact resolution. An expert in small APUs for business jets of all types, his team specializes in troubleshooting APUs.
Ed completed his college degree from Lewis University, obtaining his A&P licenses the week before graduation. He worked with the FAA as a Safety Counselor and received an Award as Safety Counselor of the Year/Midwest Region in 1994.
As for hobbies, he says: I love golf so book a tee time and I will show up!
