Diego CiFuentes Senior Field Service Engineer, Bogotá, Colombia
Diego’s father is a pilot, prompting him since childhood to want to work with aircraft. Over his 22 years in the aviation industry, his career as an electronics engineer has included work for airlines and OEMs.
He joined Honeywell Customer Support 11 years ago from Avianca Airlines, bringing an understanding of what it’s like to be in the customer’s shoes since his previous role was as head of avionics for the airline.
Diego serves as an instructor in avionics fundamentals and Honeywell products, and is licensed as a Colombian Aerocivil – Aeronautical Specialist Engineer.
His certifications are in Airframe and Powerplant for the A320, McDonnell Douglas 83, B757 and Fokker 50; in avionics systems for Epic/Primus EMB 170/190, Epic G450/G550, Fokker 50 and McDonnell Douglas 83 and in APU Line Maintenance for GTCP36-150RR, 331-350, GTCP131-9A. Diego is a member of the Primus Epic Technical Core Team.
He’s also certified for Honeywell Solid State Flight Recorders and ADRAS 32, L3 Communications Recorders and Rose; and products including TCAS, EGPWS, ACARS and Quantum Radios.
Diego has a bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering from Universidad Santo Tomas and completed the W.P. Carey Services Leadership Certificate Program at Arizona State University. His awards include the Boliviana de Aviacion for providing avionics training and continuous technical support, Honeywell’s Customer Hero Award, and being named Avianca’s Engineer of the Year.
Fluent in Spanish with a basic understanding of French, he enjoys camping and fishing in his spare time.
