Air France, KLM Fleets to Improve Performance and Reliability with Honeywell Auxiliary Power Unit Service Center

KLM Engineering & Maintenance subsidiary now licensed to help improve customer savings and operations

ROLLE, Switzerland, Oct. 18, 2016 – Honeywell (NYSE: HON) has signed a long-term auxiliary power unit service center license agreement with European Pneumatic Component Overhaul and Repair, a wholly owned subsidiary of KLM Engineering & Maintenance. The contract supports the Air France-KLM group and third-party fleets, including the company’s Airbus and Boeing aircraft.

As part of the new license, European Pneumatic Component Overhaul and Repair (EPCOR) will enhance its maintenance, repair and overhaul service center offerings for customers with Honeywell’s industry-recognized auxiliary power unit (APU), which provides compressed air to start the main engine and power the environmental control system. Customers will benefit from potential cost savings and peace of mind by using original equipment manufacturer parts, which are maintained and repaired by the manufacturer-trained engineers.

“As a leading innovator and manufacturer of APUs, Honeywell fully understands customer needs to maximize reliability while reducing maintenance expenses. Our legacy in APUs means we can deliver the highest level of quality and expertise,” said David Shilliday, vice president, Commercial Aviation, Europe, Middle East, Africa and India, Honeywell Aerospace. “This APU service center license agreement is a continuation of our long-term relationship with Air France-KLM group to deliver best-in-class technology capabilities.”

“With Honeywell as one of our partners, we can provide our customers with outstanding services on repair and overhaul of high-quality APUs,” said Dennis Wetjens, managing director of EPCOR. “Our intention is to set a new standard for our industry regarding quality of service, on-time performance and innovation. Ambitious? Yes, but achievable.”

The new license agreement will be valid for 10 years. In addition, EPCOR remains an authorized APU service center for the following models: 131-9A for Airbus A320; 131-9B for Boeing 737NG; 331-350 for Airbus A330/A340; and 331-500 for Boeing 777.
