Honeywell Signs Memorandum of Understanding With Aero Engine Corporation of China

ZHUHAI, China, Nov. 1, 2016 – Honeywell (NYSE: HON) and Aero Engine Corporation of China will work together on a number of initiatives involving aircraft engines, following a strategic memorandum of understanding the two companies signed at Airshow China 2016.

The new agreement will see Honeywell and Aero Engine Corporation of China (AECC) work together on propulsion systems, propulsion-related systems and auxiliary power unit initiatives. Honeywell and AECC will also collaborate to discuss potential opportunities in China for new commercial aircraft, helicopters and business jets, which will help support the development of China’s aircraft manufacturing industry. The two parties hope to knowledge share through their cooperation and promote mutual development.

Established on Aug. 28 this year, AECC is China’s state-owned mega-enterprise dedicated to aviation engines that has the capability for the research, development, manufacturing and testing of aircraft engines. AECC has 24 subsidiaries and boasts nearly 100,000 employees.
