Honeywell’s Briand Greer Wins China Aerospace Laureate Award

Briand Greer, president of Honeywell (NYSE: HON) ASEAN, received a Leadership Excellence Award at China’s 12th Aerospace Laureate Awards, held on the eve of Airshow China 2016 in Zhuhai, China. The Aerospace Laureate Awards are among China’s highest honors for organizations and individuals who have made notable contributions to the country’s aviation and aerospace industries.

Before his current position, Greer was president, Honeywell Aerospace, Asia Pacific, for nearly five years, a role that saw him strengthen and grow the company’s aerospace business across the region. The award recognizes Greer’s leadership and significant achievements in China. Under his leadership, Honeywell set up two joint ventures in China to support the C919 airliner and other platforms globally. In addition to partnering with Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China on the C919 and ARJ21 programs, he also played a critical role to lead Honeywell’s active participation in other Chinese aircraft programs such as the AC311, MA700 and Y-12F. The award also recognizes his support for corporate social responsibility in China, delivered through the Honeywell Hometown Solutions initiative.

At present, Honeywell is the only company to win an Aerospace Laureate Award in China for the second time, acknowledging the company’s ongoing, long-term commitment to China’s aviation industry. In 2011, Mark Howes, then president, Honeywell Aerospace, Asia Pacific, became the first non-Chinese citizen to receive the award.
