Honeywell Strengthens Its Long-Standing Relationship With Jeju Air By Providing New Aftermarket Solutions

Cost-effective and quick-turnaround aftermarket programs support Jeju Air’s current and future fleet of Boeing 737-800 airplanes

SINGAPORE, Feb. 16, 2016 – Honeywell Aerospace (NYSE: HON) extended its existing aftermarket support contracts with Jeju Air, Korea’s largest low-cost carrier, by several years. Under this new agreement, Honeywell will continue to provide aftermarket support for Jeju Air’s existing fleet of 20 Boeing 737-800 airplanes in addition to its future fleet.

The agreement extends Honeywell’s existing wheels and brakes exchange program for seven years, and maintenance support for Honeywell’s 131-9B series Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) for five years. The agreement will provide Jeju Air with an efficient and cost-effective maintenance program to help reduce the airline’s overall cost of ownership in today’s low-cost carrier market.

“Today’s highly competitive airline industry requires airlines like Jeju Air to keep airplane downtime, as well as their operational and maintenance costs, to a minimum while ensuring airplane safety and reliability,” said Brian Davis, vice president, Airlines, Asia Pacific, Honeywell Aerospace. “We have a longstanding relationship with Jeju Air and a firm understanding of its operational needs. Our aftermarket maintenance programs are specifically designed to ensure systematic approaches to maintenance and reliable analysis to lower overall operating costs, and are supported through Honeywell’s global repair and overhaul network.”

“Honeywell has been a trusted partner of Jeju Air in aftermarket maintenance for our fleet of Boeing 737-800 wheels and brakes and APUs for the past eight years,” said JW Louis, Kim, purchasing team leader, Jeju Air. “We are confident Honeywell’s aftermarket programs will continue to support our operational needs with the highest standards and without compromise on quality and safety, even as we continue to expand our routes and reach in the Asia Pacific region.”

Honeywell’s aftermarket maintenance programs promise quick turnaround and excellent customer support services at established facilities in the Asia Pacific region for wheels, brakes and APUs. In addition, Honeywell’s customized and predictable maintenance program for Jeju Air’s 131-9B APUs is a time-and-material model that charges set labor rates and the costs of parts with a price cap for repair costs.

As air traffic continues to grow in Asia Pacific, Honeywell’s aftermarket programs are focused on solving customers’ challenges and adding value across organizations. As no two airlines are the same, Honeywell’s maintenance and asset availability services are customized to create cost-effective packaged solutions that allow airlines to better manage and predict their maintenance spending, asset requirements and repair needs.
