Honeywell Secures Three-Year Avionics Protection Plans With Deer Jet

Honeywell Avionics Protection Plan will keep Deer Jet’s Gulfstream G550 flights on schedule

SHANGHAI, April 13,2016 – Honeywell Aerospace (NYSE: HON) signed new three-year contracts with Deer Jet, the largest business aviation operator in Asia Pacific, enrolling three G550s of the operator’s fleet into the Honeywell Avionics Protection Plan. The new contracts provide Deer Jet with full coverage for Honeywell avionics, allowing the operator to avoid downtime and control maintenance costs for these airplanes.

The Honeywell Avionics Protection Plan (HAPP) offers business and general aviation operators a cost-effective and efficient solution to ensure their fleets are flight-ready. Operators are provided with quick service and dedicated support from Honeywell and more than 600 authorized sales and service centers worldwide.

“For business aviation operators, time is money, and avionics and mechanical systems are investments worth protecting,” said Andy Gill, senior director, Business and General Aviation, Asia Pacific, Honeywell Aerospace. “With our HAPP, operators like Deer Jet receive dedicated support and the peace of mind they need to maintain their fleets. Currently, more than 3,500 business jets worldwide have enrolled in HAPP, with the number of new enrollees increasing annually.”

HAPP is an extended warranty program designed for business and general aviation. It covers most Honeywell avionics on the airframe for a year or more. Operators can choose to enroll in HAPP regardless of the age of the aircraft with no buy-in fee required. The program’s pricing is based on flight hours, aircraft type and equipment on board, and special pricing is available for fleet operators. HAPP covers any product maintained in the spares and exchange pool, regardless of how long it has been out of warranty.

Besides HAPP, Honeywell also offers the Mechanical Protection Plan (MPP), which provides coverage for the Honeywell environment and cabin pressure control systems, extending the full range of avionics benefits provided by HAPP to the mechanical systems.

“Honeywell has a solid reputation for reliability and delivering maintenance and protection plans to business jet operators,” said Zhou Jinshan, director of maintenance, Deer Jet. “For Deer Jet, the HAPP represents a cost-effective and fully supportive solution, which will ensure that our Gulfstream G550s stay up and running. Our aim is to eventually enroll a significant number of our fleet under the HAPP and MPP.”

In addition to being a corporate jet operator, Deer Jet is also a Honeywell authorized avionics dealer and APU mechanical service center. As an authorized avionics dealer, Deer Jet is able to maintain, install and upgrade Honeywell avionics for business aviation operators in Asia Pacific.
