April 15, 2015 | PHOENIX

Honeywell Aerospace’s (NYSE: HONTPE331-14GR-801Z turboprop engine and RE100CS auxiliary power unit (APU) have been selected by M7 Aerospace, a division of Elbit Systems of America LLC as part of a modernization effort to improve support for the Brazilian Navy’s aircraft carrier operations. The five-year retrofit program, which includes Honeywell’s engines and APUs, will retrofit the Brazilian Navy’s Grumman C-1A Trader fleet to achieve multi-purpose operations as the KC-2A aircraft, that will include carrier onboard delivery, air-to-air refueling, and medivac use.

With this selection, Honeywell is supporting M7 Aerospace in helping the Brazilian Navy meet operational requirements through exceptional horsepower response, shorter takeoffs, best-in-class fuel efficiency and reliable auxiliary power.

With more than 65,000 turboprop and turbine engines and 95,000 APUs delivered today, Honeywell’s advanced technology helps government, commercial and private aircraft operators keep their platforms in service longer. In addition, Honeywell’s engines and APUs help achieve greater efficiency to succeed in the midst of shrinking budgets and fluctuating fuel costs.
