Bringing new advancements in sensor capability, the TALIN® 6000 enables more accurate pointing and positioning to meet the most demanding customer needs

WASHINGTON, Oct. 21, 2013 – Honeywell Aerospace (NYSE: HON) has released the latest addition to its Tactical Advanced Land Inertial Navigator (TALIN) product family, the TALIN 6000.

“The TALIN 6000 is the most capable TALIN system to date, providing unparalleled attitude performance for the most demanding pointing applications,” said Chris Lund, Surface Navigation product line manager at Honeywell.

“Our latest version of this system will continue the TALIN legacy of unmatched performance and reliability by exceeding 50,000 hours between maintenance requests. Simply put, this is the most capable, reliable and flexible navigation system available.”

Through the continued adaptation of Honeywell’s advanced inertial sensor technologies, the TALIN 6000 achieves 30 percent greater pointing accuracy than the previous high-performance TALIN systems. This will allow for more precise survey capability and targeting accuracy. The TALIN family of inertial navigation systems provides customers with a wide range of pointing and navigation solution for combat vehicles, sensor platforms, towed and self-propelled weapons, survey applications, main battle tanks, and mining equipment.

What Is TALIN?
The TALIN product family is a highly accurate, shock-stabilized position and pointing inertial navigation system designed for use on a wide range of military and commercial platforms. It provides users with extremely precise attitude and position awareness with or without the use of GPS. Utilizing the same Honeywell ring laser gyro and quartz accelerometer technologies proven in both commercial and military navigation applications for decades, TALIN is ideal for GPS-denied environments and provides a superior solution when compared with other navigation systems. This is demonstrated on a daily basis by the more than 15,000 TALIN systems operating on more than 60 military and commercial platforms worldwide.
