Honeywell Aerospace Appoints ARABASCO to Enhance Avionics Services Across the Middle East

November 18, 2013 | DUBAI

Honeywell Aerospace (NYSE: HON) has signed an avionics dealership agreement with Saudi Arabia-based Arabian Aircraft Services Co. Ltd. (ARABASCO) to increase installation capability and reduce servicing time for Honeywell avionics-equipped business and general aviation operators across the Middle East.

Through the agreement with ARABASCO, an elite provider of aviation services for over 27 years, operators of Honeywell’s advanced avionics systems now have a Honeywell-approved service center for avionics in Saudi Arabia that can provide maintenance, Retrofits, Modifications and Upgrades (RMUs) and services to operators of Honeywell equipped aircraft. The latest agreement builds on ARABASCO’s existing Honeywell servicing capability for the company’s TFE731 engine family.

“Minimizing grounding time through more efficient, accessible servicing, meeting mandates and enhancing the value of business aviation aircraft through technology are top priorities for our operators, said Andy Gill, senior director, aftermarket EMEAI, Honeywell Aerospace.

“Our partnership with ARABASCO, a company with nearly three decades of experience in servicing and ground support in the Middle East, is the latest example of how we are meeting this need and making it easier for our customers in Saudi Arabia and across the region to keep their fleets flying and up-to-date with the latest Honeywell technology.”

The agreement grants ARABASCO customers access to Honeywell repair transactions, the purchase of spares and Honeywell’s SPEX parts exchange service for its avionics systems. SPEX is a Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) exchange and rental service for both warranty and non-warranty support. Its inventory of more than 14,000 spare components ensures that Honeywell-equipped aircraft are returned to service promptly and efficiently, reducing costly grounding time.

“ARABASCO is proud to add Honeywell Avionics Support to its current authorization for the Honeywell TFE731 engine in Saudi Arabia, said Emad Ghobar, director of business development, special projects & MRO, Arabian Aircraft Services Co. Ltd. “It is a natural extension of our important regional relationship with Honeywell and will provide even greater support for our mutual customers in the Kingdom.”

ARABASCO is ideally suited as Honeywell’s avionics dealership of choice in Saudi Arabia with its long-standing experience as a one-stop shop for aircraft maintenance, management and ground handling services to the Middle East business jet community. In addition to sales and installation, ARABASCO provides operators a full portfolio of maintenance services including line maintenance, diagnostics testing and installation of LRUs.
