Swiss operator Alpinlift Helikopter has ordered a Kopter SH09 helicopter, which is powered by Honeywell’s HTS900 turbine engine. The order was announced at the Helicopter Association International Heli-Expo tradeshow March 7. With this order, Alpinlift joins the launch customer team for this exciting new helicopter.
“We are thrilled with this success and with the confidence given to Kopter,” said Andreas Lowenstein, Kopter CEO. “The discussions with Alpinlift are building towards a valuable long-term collaboration. This mutual engagement will support the market introduction of the SH09 as the best day-to-day workhorse for many operators in the world.”
Honeywell’s HTS900 turbine engine enables the new helicopter to achieve exceptional “hot and high” performance in rugged conditions such as high temperatures, high elevations and low air density. The aircraft has a maximum take-off weight of 2,650kg (5,842 pounds), a fast cruise speed of 260 km/h (140 knots) and a very long range – in excess of 800km (430 nautical miles) with standard fuel tanks.
Alpinlift Helikopter is based in Buochs, Switzerland. The company specializes in private and business flights and complex cargo transport. The addition of the SH09 to its fleet will enable the company to expand its sling-load operations.
