Broadband connectivity is now available for AS350 helicopter operators with Honeywell’s Aspire 200 satellite communications system. Honeywell received FAA supplemental type certification (STC SR02544SE) in July.
Honeywell’s Aspire 200 brings high-speed, high-bandwidth connectivity to the helicopter environment. Working in conjunction with Inmarsat, Honeywell has solved the problem of data loss through the rotor blades with the Aspire 200 hardware and a high data-rate software package.
“Honeywell’s performance is unmatched and unparalleled. The Aspire 200 System with high data-rate can transmit more data, faster than any other L-band system. No matter your mission – air ambulance, law enforcement, oil and gas, search and rescue or VIP transport – or your area of operations, the Aspire 200 system provides a high-speed data connection that is always on,” said Mark Goodman, Aspire 200 product director, Honeywell Aerospace.
The Aspire 200 system, coupled with the GoDirect suite of services and apps, makes Honeywell a helicopter operator’s one-stop-shop for airborne connectivity.
Honeywell has a robust STC pipeline for Aspire 200 with FAA, EASA and Transport Canada, including the EASA STC for AS350, which is expected this year.
