For over 50 years, Honeywell’s T53 turboshaft engine has been powering some of the world’s most iconic helicopters, including the Bell UH-1H Huey, Huey II and AH-1H Cobra. In that time, the engine has accumulated more than 62 million flight hours.
Operators of the T53 engine across the Middle East and Africa have recently received a lift thanks to the appointment of Jordanian Aeronautical Systems Co. (JAC) as the first authorized T53 engine service center in the region.
As the first dedicated T53 engine service center in the Middle East and Africa, Jordanian Aeronautical Systems Co. (JAC) will provide both military and commercial operators with localized repair and maintenance options. The regional service center will provide a reliable, cost-effective and local option for operators looking for repair, maintenance and overhaul support.
As the region's helicopter market continues to grow, the agreement with JAC recognises the needs of Honeywell’s customers by offering a more accessible, regional repair and maintenance option, meaning quicker turnaround and less downtime so they can keep their aircraft mission ready.
The JAC service center is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Royal Jordanian Air Force (RJAF) and is an Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO) specialized in Aircraft Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul. Delivering complete aviation solutions, focused on effective, high quality and value-added services JAC provides line and base maintenance for B737-200 and Classic, C-130 (L382) and AGUSTA AW-139 Aircraft. JAC maintenance services also include the JT8D, CFM56 & Allison T56-7/15, PT6C67C removal- installation, synchronization, ground run, and troubleshooting.
