Rail Safety on Display in Germany

This week our team will be demonstrating how Honeywell technology is helping to make rail, metro and subway operations safer. We will be exhibiting at Innotrans, which takes place from 20 – 23rd September in Berlin. The show is billed as the world’s leading trade fair for transport technology, with more than 2,700 exhibitors from 55 countries and more than 133,000 visitors in attendance in 2014.

At the show we will be showcasing our Radar Scanner and our Track SentinelTM technology, both of which are designed to make rail and metro operations safer. Our Radar Scanner provides a certified Safety Integrity Level 3 solution to improve safety at level crossings. Using our radio frequency sensor technology, the radar scanner monitors the intersection and detects obstacles, making train travel safer, more efficient and more reliable.

Our Track Sentinel also provides a certified safety solution for metro and subway stations. Track Sentinel operates a radio frequency monitoring system over the tracks both in front of and behind stationary and moving trains, improving safety, efficiency and reliability of service. And at 80% lower investment than the installation of platform doors it is a great value choice to improve efficiency of service.

Len McNally, Senior Product Manager, comments, “Our presence at Innotrans provides us with a great opportunity to interact with our customers and to showcase our rail safety technology to the industry.” He went on to say, “Millions of people in all major cities around the world from Berlin, London and New York through to Tokyo, depend on metros or subways for their way to work every day. Honeywell's proven technology can make that journey safer, faster and more reliable.”
