Engine Support Assured for Bell 214 Operators

Honeywell has taken steps to make sure that operators of Bell 214 helicopters equipped with the T55-08D engine continue to receive the engineering support they need to maintain their engines. While the T55 family of turboshaft engines remains a mainstay in Honeywell’s extensive power plant portfolio, the company no longer manufactures the T55-08D.

At HELI-EXPO 2016, Honeywell and McDermott Aviation signed a new licensing agreement under which McDermott will support the engine. Honeywell will continue to work closely with McDermott to ensure that T55-08D operators’ engineering needs are met. Honeywell also supports McDermott’s fleet of rotary- and fixed-wing aircraft.

McDermott Aviation is Australia’s largest privately owned and operated helicopter company, with an extensive staff of engineering and maintenance professionals.
