The Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) awarded Honeywell’s Federal Manufacturing & Technologies business an overall rating of “Excellent” for its work in fiscal year 2015. Honeywell FM&T manages and operates the NNSA’s Kansas City National Security Campus (KCNSC).
“We pride ourselves on being a trusted site dedicated to meeting our customer’s needs,” said John Ricciardelli, President, Honeywell FM&T. “Receiving the highest rating among the NNSA’s seven site contractors is validation that we’re doing the right things in the right way with uncompromised security and safety.”
Ricciardelli credits the scientists, engineers and technicians working at the Kansas City National Security Campus with driving continuous improvements in all aspects of the operation. With the excellent overall rating, FM&T was awarded 94 percent of the available award fee for the government’s fiscal year, which ended Sept. 30, 2015. Results of the annual performance evaluation were announced by the NNSA in May.
The KCNSC facility supports the national security mission, which includes producing 80 percent of the non-nuclear parts for nuclear weapons. The report said the Honeywell unit delivered more than 70,000 development and production hardware items in support of NNSA, Air Force, Navy and United Kingdom nuclear missions in fiscal year 2015. Noted achievements included procuring $2.5 million in equipment for the NNSA’s Emergency Communication Network and conducting over 900 assessments for the NNSA weapons of mass destruction interdiction program.
