The aviation industry in Asia Pacific is set to undergo a major transformation in light of the recent launch of the ASEAN Economic Community and in particular the community’s Open Skies policy which expects a significant growth in air traffic in the region. Singapore Airlines, Vietnam Airlines and Lufthansa have been among the first adopters of JetWave and GX Aviation for the commercial market, while Bombardier will offer the JetWave capability across their Global business jet platforms Beyond in-flight Wi-Fi, Honeywell is confident that the connected aircraft will provide new benefits, opportunities and cost savings for airlines, OEMs, operators and more. For in cabin business aviation solutions, Honeywell’s Ovation Select cabin management system provides passengers with high-definition in-flight entertainment and productivity to meet the demands of busy schedules and make the most of travel time, all at their fingertips.
To overcome airport and air traffic congestion expected in a fast-growing region, Honeywell has developed air traffic management solutions which can be experienced through an interactive wall at the airshow. One such solution is Honeywell’s SmartPath Ground-Based Augmentation System, which provides a cost-effective precision landing solution that enables increased airport capacity, decreased air traffic noise and reduced weather-related delays.
