Honeywell and Truth Data are working together to help operators use data from their helicopters to improve safety, performance and efficiency. A new agreement between the two companies combines all the capabilities of Honeywell’s Sky Connect Tracker III system with Truth Data’s cloud-based flight data monitoring and analysis services.
Under the pact, Truth Data can sell the Sky Connect Tracker III system and Honeywell can sell Truth Data services to operators looking to leverage the information produced by avionics and mechanical systems on their helicopters for smarter, safer operations.
Key Honeywell systems on the helicopter can now be monitored to provide operators, pilots and maintenance teams with a comprehensive view of the performance and health of a helicopter. Data from various systems is more accessible than ever. Honeywell and Truth Data are working with operators to turn a wealth of information into actionable insights.
Previously these kinds of capabilities were available only to very large operators that used customized, self-designed data monitoring methods. With Truth Data’s cloud-based model for data monitoring and analysis and the ability to pull data from multiple areas of an aircraft information is now more accessible to smaller operators.
Honeywell provides a broad range of helicopter products including propulsion, avionics and communication systems such as Sky Connect Tracker III for satellite based voice, tracking, and flight data monitoring (FDM), Aspire 200 for voice and real time high bandwidth data and video transmission, Vibration monitoring (VXP) and Health and Usage Monitoring Systems (HUMS) data analysis, and propulsion engine/APU trend monitoring.
The adoption of these data monitoring services also assists many helicopters in meeting key mandates and industry standards for operating in fields like emergency medical services and oil and gas. Operators in these demanding industries benefit from data monitoring that makes risk and safety assessment a proactive exercise that keeps pilots and their aircraft safe.
