As part of our ongoing partnership with the Emirates Foundation for Youth Development, Honeywell Hometown Solutions, the company’s corporate citizenship initiative, will be challenging students in the United Arab Emirates to “Think Again” during the annual Think Science Fair.
The fair, taking place from April 17th – 19th at the Dubai Exhibition Centre is the culmination of the Foundation’s annual Think Science competition. Think Science is a national program to inspire and encourage Emirati youth aged 15-24 to consider careers in science-related fields. In support of the competition, Honeywell engineers have provided guidance to participants as they developed, designed and built aerospace projects that aim to solve real-world problems.
During the event Honeywell will be looking to inspire students to think about engineering through a number of videos and displays that will showcase some of the innovations Honeywell has made possible. The “7 Wonders of Honeywell” video showcases some of the most iconic landmarks and innovations found in the UAE – which Honeywell technologies have helped make possible. From the Airbus A380, of which local airline Emirates boasts the world’s largest fleet to the Burj Khalifa – the tallest building in the world. Honeywell’s technologies are woven into the fabric of life in the UAE and around the world making it safer, more secure, and more energy efficient and where quality of life is always improving.
Speaking prior to the event Norm Gilsdorf President & CEO of Honeywell Middle East, Russia and Central Asia said: “Through our partnership with Think Science, we hope to inspire, encourage and enable local talent to support the UAE’s workforce of the future. As a cyber-industrial company, with a legacy in engineering and software development, our priority today is to encourage young Emirati’s to consider a career within our industry. The Emirates Foundation through its Think Science initiative, is the ideal partner for us to achieve this goal.”
Students attending Think Science will also be able to immerse themselves in a world of aviation safety, productivity and efficiency with our Virtual Reality experiences and share their Think Science experiences through our innovative Luster (formerly Instaprint) activity.
