In a Class by Itself – Honeywell’s HTS900 Delivers Increased Payload Capacity and Operational Efficiency

March 11, 2015

The HTS900 engine is the latest addition to Honeywell’s portfolio of propulsion systems. Marenco Swisshelicopter has selected the engine to power the SKYe SH09, and Eagle Copters has selected the engine as an aftermarket upgrade to the Bell 407. Both aircraft boasts enhanced mission capabilities including the ability to fly faster, further and more fuel efficiently with lower operating costs.

The HTS900 builds on Honeywell’s strong heritage in helicopter engine technology. The engine has significant next-generation technology included in the base design including a dual channel Full Authority Dual Engine Control. Eagle Copters has received FAA and Transport Canada certification for the Eagle 407HP and Marenco has also received FAA and EASA certifications for the engine.

Honeywell’s HTS900 provides:

  • Increased payload capability
  • 22% hot/high power increase
  • 17% reduction in specific fuel consumption
  • Increased dash speed

At this year’s Heli-Expo, Eagle Copters introduced a launch customer–Air Resources Helicopters for the newly certified HTS900D 407HP conversion.
