What did you learn from your years in the service that helps you perform your job today?

I learned many things while in the military, but some of the key traits that were trained and/or reinforced were leadership, work ethic, perseverance, adaptability, attention to detail without losing sight of the objective, and taking responsibility for your job and your tasks. Also, I can readily say that some of the best people I have known in my life were sailors and marines that served their country out of duty and honor, and not for glory, fame or recognition. I have known some of these veterans for over 30 years and I am proud to have served with them and call them my friends.
