What did you learn from your years in the service that helps you perform your job today?

I started in basic training. Then I proceeded to the Electronics School at Fort Gordon, Ga. I graduated with top honors. However, I was not able to use these skills for another 12 months.

Being the first and sometimes the only woman in the group, I continued to work and learn all I could. Much of this was by trial and error, but I continued my education after the military. I worked full time as an electronic technician and completed my Associates Degree in Electronic Technology. I continued working and some 15 years after completing my military service I completed my Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering.

If not for my military service, I do not believe I would be anywhere near the aerospace industry, let alone the space industry today. My chosen paths have provided me with wonderful opportunities and have guided me to where I am today.
