Real-life Lesson in Engineering

Each year, Honeywell engineers spend countless hours volunteering in their local communities. One of the most frequent volunteer opportunities is spending time with students and teaching them about opportunities in technical careers like engineering.

Erik Timpson, an engineer from Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies, just spent time with middle school students from the Kansas City area.

"Our goal is to get middle-schoolers excited about different types of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, environmental engineering and show them how fun these technologies can be and to help build our engineering pipeline," said Timpson.

After a day of learning and having fun, one student is now thinking about taking an engineering class and another said "Engineering makes your brain think."
