The X-47B is a “flying wing” shaped prototype meant to fly autonomously, unlike many drones such as the Predator, which are usually flown remotely by ground-station-based pilots. The aircraft has a top speed in the "high subsonic" range, can reach a top altitude of 40,000 feet, and can fly about 2,100 nautical miles.

Honeywell manufactures the Auxiliary Power Generation System, Embedded GPS/INS, Environmental Control System and Air Turbine Starter for the aircraft.
