Joe Brokaw Senior Technical Support Engineer, Deer Valley, Arizona
Joe works directly with ATR and BGA customers of all stripes: maintenance personnel and flight crews up to corporate executives and principals. They support every system that Honeywell, Sperry and BendixKing ever produced on all OEM platforms, a role Joe calls “always challenging with never a dull moment.”
He works on BGA flight controls, BGA FMS and display systems and, as a BGA FMS Technical Core Team member, he continues to grow his FMS knowledge. As he says, “if you’re not learning daily, you better check for a pulse.”
Joe began his aviation career in the U.S. Air Force as an F-4 Weapons Control Systems technician. Then he worked for King Avionics (later BendixKing) in Wyoming, determining cold weather is for polar bears.
Back to Phoenix, he began his 30-year Honeywell career with Sperry Flight Systems, building drones out of F86s, F-100s and F102ss and later transitioned to the D&S repair shop and then BGA test engineering.
Factory closures gave the opportunity to complete his bachelor’s degree at Wayland Baptist University. In 2015 he rejoined Honeywell, where he finds his greatest rewards in helping customers and building trust by always doing the right thing.
Joe is a Six Sigma Green Belt, and is certified in Customer Experience by the WP Carey School of Business at Arizona State University and in AutoCAD Advanced Applications.
He enjoys performing and writing contemporary Christian and gospel music, off-roading and spending time in the mountains.
