David Melanson Senior Field Service Engineer, Castaic, California
David entered what he considers “this fascinating career of aviation” when enlisted in the Army as a 67R10 Apache Helicopter Crew Chief. Ever since, he’s been committed to being the best technician possible and to excel in every endeavor he pursues.
That means following a customer support philosophy of diligently and promptly assisting customers to resolve their questions and aircraft issues, and following up to ensure they are satisfied with the results.
David holds an Airframe and Powerplant license as well as numerous aircraft and avionics OEM certifications for business and corporate aircraft. He’s currently working on learning more about satellite communications and deep pilot-related flight management systems issues.
His educational background includes A&P college, Embry-Riddle University, and Electrical/Electronic college studies. In addition to receiving many achievement awards and medals while serving in the Armed Forces, he’s also been an award recipient for his A&P/Avionics Technician endeavors.
In his free time, David serves as head coach for his daughter’s high school cross country mountain bike racing team and his son’s high school ice hockey team. He is fluent in French and enjoys mountain biking, kayaking, family camping, acoustic guitar and pro audio sound systems.
