David Heilman Field Service Engineer, White Plains, N.Y. (Territory of New York and New England)
David’s father, who served in the Army and Navy and worked on airframes such as the F4 Wild Weasel Electronic Warfare and the P3 Orion, inspired his imagination for aviation at a young age. As David recalls, “When it was take your kid to work day, I went!”
After high school, David pursued a degree program in Engineering Technology at State University of New York and basis certifications at the Teterboro School of Aeronautics.
His 33-year career started with responsibilities in general aviation and turbine-powered aircraft, later joining AVCO Lycoming as an overhaul/test cell tech. His move to a factory tech rep on the ALF502/LF507 programs prompted 12 years traveling to international airline and corporate operators in Europe and South American locations to train crews new to the aircraft.
In Phoenix with Honeywell, David worked in Product Support Engineering and Program Management. Since relocating to New York in 2003, he has worked as a Field Service Engineer with Honeywell’s TFE731, HTF7000, andCFE738 engines and 36-100/150, RE-100 and RE220 APU programs. He is certified in Accident Investigation USC and is licensed for FAA A&P and FAA Inspection Authorization.
His customer support motto: “Keep them safe, reliable and cost effective.”
