“Honeywell’s DU-875 liquid crystal displays provide a better flying experience,” according to the chief pilot of Spectro | Jet-Care, a leading provider of laboratory analysis services for aviation, marine and industrial applications. The company uses its Lear 40XR light business jet for travel between its state-of-the-art laboratories in the U.S., U.K. and Switzerland and on flights throughout Europe, North America and South America.
Spectro | Jet-Care recently replaced the standard DU-870 cathode-ray tube displays on its aircraft with the DU-875 and the results have been amazing, according to the chief pilot. He noted that the new displays offer better brightness, contrast and clarity, whether flying in the day or at night.
““They are a joy to use and less tiring on the eyesight,” he added. “It was time to update the system to the best available option in today’s market. This was a rewarding decision.” ”
Honeywell DU-875/885 displays are available as a form/fit upgrade to standard CRTs on aircraft with Honeywell Primus 1000/2000, SPZ-8400/8500 and selected SPZ-800 avionics systems. They provide a clear view in all cockpit lighting conditions, are much more reliable and weigh much less than the original, now obsolete CRTs.
