Tens of thousands of sports enthusiasts from around the globe soon will travel to Pyeongchang, South Korea, to attend the winter games, taking place Feb. 9–25. Many will fly onboard private aircraft. Equipped with the diverse line of GoDirect™ Connected Aircraft services from Honeywell Aerospace, they’ll arrive safely on journeys as memorable as the games.

Prior to departure, flight crews can use Honeywell’s GoDirect™ Flight Services to check the weather along their planned route, file their flight plans to Pyeongchang, download important information, and view graphical representations of their upcoming flights — all from a tablet. Pilots also can monitor their position and flight progress once en route, looking ahead for weather hazards, traffic congestion or ground delays using honeywell’s GoDirect Flight Sentinel service.

While those pilots manage the trip from the flight deck, their passengers will enjoy the convenience and capabilities of Honeywell's JetWave satellite communications system.

Utilizing Inmarsat’s Jet ConneX satellite communications network, JetWave’s inflight connectivity offers passengers inflight Wi-Fi, with speeds just as fast as the networks in their homes and offices. Honeywell GoDirect™ Cabin provides fast and reliable internet, allowing passengers to work on the go or watch their favorite movies as they cross oceans at 40,000 feet.

Pilots and passengers alike benefit from Honeywell's GoDirect Maintenance Service that utilizes data analysis, reporting and monitoring tools for key aircraft systems. GoDirect Maintenance Service provides everyone onboard with the peace of mind that monitored components are properly maintained and within operational life limits.

Nevertheless, issues occasionally arise that require prompt service before an aircraft may again take flight. As passengers enjoy the competition, venues and diverse entertainment in Pyeongchang, Honeywell's on-site support team will be available via Honeywell’s Go Direct™ Maintenance Advisor app, email or phone to arrange immediate access to critical parts and service to remedy an aircraft on-ground situation.

Honeywell has a dedicated Customer and Product Support team which has established a comprehensive support network for customers travelling to Pyeongchang, with experienced avionics, mechanical and technical support engineers located nearby in Seoul throughout the games. Crews can coordinate prompt repairs via Honeywell’s 24/7 Product Technical Support Team. Honeywell will work closely with aircraft manufacturers and partners to provide full-coverage maintenance and repair needs, with parts supplied through Honeywell Aerospace facilities in Singapore, China and Australia.

The games in Pyeongchang represent the noblest ideals of international unity and spirited, yet peaceful competition, and the athletes embody the highest levels of excellence and professionalism. Honeywell's extensive line of GoDirect Connected Aircraft services follows this example in providing the very best in reliable service to ensure passengers travel to and from Pyeongchang safely and efficiently.
